Poetry / To A Love
A love I can’t explain,
With ink and a world of time.
If words were single drops,
I would run the ocean dry.
With everything I feel ,
When your breath turns into mine.
Reborn with every kiss,
As if I’ve never been alive.
Feelings of dismay,
Regret, worry, fear.
Never show their presence,
While we are lying here.
Your voice, your breath, your heart,
Are all that catch my ears.
Our love, our work of art,
Won’t be bounded by the years.
My thoughts are such a mess,
And to this I must confess.
But with you I am composed,
You are the cure to my distress.
Nothing can ever change this,
No one could ever tame us.
And to my mind and body,
Your name is pretty famous.

I really liked this piece, especially your opening with
“A love I can’t explain,
With ink and a world of time.
If words were single drops,
I would run the ocean dry.”
It created an image in my head and I think that as a writer, that helps me better connect with my audience. And athough it’s a byproduct of your subject matter, the poem is very easy to relate to.
