Poetry / Eyes Wide Shut
Hold tight for appeasement more
Ecstatic toward her soft touch.
Soft sighs, worlds spinning, Arms
Encircle her, enraptured world.
Take the hold of something blind.
Follow in faith of all that you can’t see,
like stead in greater beings, greater things.
Take the leap of faith.
With eyes wide shut, taken
My hand along for the ride.
Enfolded arms, a cross of my protection
Many talk of wide eyes,
Fear of the unknown. But,
With eyes wide shut, all one knows is what surrounds
The ignorant bliss of exsistance.
The fall comes, following
A leap of blinded faith.
With eyes wide shut,
Fall flat on your face.

you’re talking about romance, and mocking religion, but possibly just creating an analogy. i really can’t tell though, so this piece could use some clarity. anger express? seemed more like pity to me, so i can’t give you high scores since neither seemed well achieved. also, if a set of words are meant to be said at once, dont have the first word on a different line from the rest “arms encircled her” was where you did that. same with “taken” 3rd stanza.

If I’m not mistaken you’re talking of a night of passion that turned bad. I had to read it twice, but found it very good indeed. I love the Fear of the unknown line, because I can relate. A leap of blinded faith brings back memories I’d rather leave buried. Great poem.
