Poetry / lindsay
everything is darker
but more beautiful.
i can stare at the sun
for as long as I want.
I
am
unstoppable.
her name sends frost
through my bloodstream
like panic calls from a sinking
ship on radio wire.
I can’t stop shaking.
i’m not nervous,
i’ve got my head out the
window and i’m screaming.

Its as though these are two separate poems. Its like day, and night, or hot and cold. You talk about being unstoppable, but then you turn around and say she is the one that causes torture and pain. Its like a battle of emotions of who you see yourself being and then who you see yourself when you are with her. I like this…it sort of gives me a shivery shaking feeling in my chest. Great write. I believe in writing its almost a strive to be able to shake someone else up with words whether its heart felt or madness, or whatever it may be. You did it for me. I look forward to reading more.

Brilliant… what a jarring and spooky piece of poetry. An obvious comparison, perhaps, but it smacked of none other than SYLVIA PLATH (especially the second stanza).
This juxtaposition of feeling free and then feeling suffocated; of liberation through release and then sheer imprisonment through terror; is essayed perfectly. Loved the spacing choices in stanza one, and the lack of capitals also made this feel more complete for me.
Super!
