Non-fiction / Years Later!
As we travel through our separate journeys. Life waits for no one.
Our lives, with all its complex possibilities, could show us paths into worlds we do not know, nor understand.
Will we learn the secrets that it holds so close to us, In order that we might reach for the final pieces of those withheld secrets?
Doubtful in the least.
I have throughout my life, had long periods of time spent, or perhaps wasted, pondering the ultimate meaning of it all. Only to realize after much debate, with others and at times, only myself, arrive at the only possible conclusion abruptly.
That conclusion was to admit that I just don’t know.
The truth is, I and countless others, some great minds, then others like myself not such great thinkers find that no one will know in this life. If there is another life beyond this, perhaps there we may also not know in either case.
What a cruel trick to play on mortals, one might think?
Oh no, really it isn’t, I don’t for a minute think we, as nothing more than Animals on this small blue Orb, are meant to hold the keys to such an elaborate scheme.
We haven’t done so well with what we have been afforded so far.
Earnestly we strive to find truth in everyone, and everything around, and hold these people and things to the truthful standards we ourselves have come to believe in. But sadly, we seldom take the time to know what truths we hold within ourselves.
Oh we carry banners for Patriotism; we walk defiantly in the sight of those who choose not to walk the ways we do. But we lazily dismiss the idea, that we, ourselves may be the very thing we have wanted to discover and change for the better.
It just may be that each person needs to become his/her own “salvation” for lack of a better word. But as I pointed out earlier, “I just don’t know!”
Is there a God?
That is a troublesome question.
If I say yes, then am I admitting that there must be a deity?
Why Not!
I think that if there is, or were a God. Then with the current state that we, the caretakers. Have left the world in.
If I was God, I would vote everyone off my Island.
To give you my answer about God is to tell you that I hope there is one; I try to imagine a benevolent Deity that cares for all his creation. Then I want to pander to everyone out there. Not caring, or realizing that all the knowledge that has been given to man, was just that. It was given to Man.” Me!” a Man. God, or Space decided to open the tiny portal and leak out a bit of pure knowledge so that I as an individual could perhaps have a new and original thought that could propel me as an independent thinking Man to see beyond the curtains of life. That I may better myself, and in the process, a few other persons within my circle of life.
Am I right?
Of course I am.
Do you doubt me?
You had better!
Because I am not a deity, nor am I any great savior to the masses that sit silently praying, counting beads, rubbing lamps, or burning rose petals under the bright august moon while incanting secret rituals that were discovered in an old ancient bookstore in the south side of any town USA, to come and enlighten them as to which step they need to take next.
Prophetic utterances!
Everybody is amazed when they think someone has spoken a word from God. I suppose that if it were a true spoken word from the mind of God it would be amazing. I believe that if I had ever heard someone and knew that they were truly speaking gods thoughts, then It might be a good time to get on my knees and ask that God to save me.
A short story.
An old man walked through a small village; he muttered unintelligibly to himself, He had set up a camp by the communities Water well.
A woman that had been to the well came bursting into her small stone house. She was almost on fire with chatter about how the Old man had spoken to her heart. As she told her story how the Man had told her that she would” find truth this day”. With tears in her eyes she realized that by merely hearing those words she had already found that truth, she was a better person from that day forward until she passed from this world.
It was later discovered that the old man had been a scoundrel most of his life. He had been imprisoned, and had wasted his youth on various forms of games, violence, drugs, and schemes to try and bilk most everyone he had ever been in contact with.
The time he had spent at the Well he had just escaped from an asylum for the mentally ill. He could not even speak plainly. It was discovered by the former Husband of the now deceased but better Woman that the Man only said the same thing over and over. And that was when ever someone approached him at the Well, he would ask. “Have ye seen Ruth today?”
Years later it hadn’t mattered what the old Man had said, what did was what she thought she had heard that brought her comfort and peace.
Did you enjoy this story?
I hope so.
Did this truly happen?
I Don’t Know! But what I do know is that it meant something to one person and ultimately made life better for not only her, but those close to her.
Politics.
Politics in general are on our minds so much more these days than at any other time in the history of mankind. I have been told that Politics shape Nations, found principals and create Laws for its Citizens so they can reach goals and live in a way that astonishes even the creator himself.
Sadly though the truth is Politics have and continue to Cause Divisions among the People of said Nations, it has brought strife, starvation, Hate, War, Pestilences, and billions have died.
My Politics are like this, I know I have to pay taxes, taxes help the poor and keeps my Government in paychecks and medical insurance for the Politicians. I know that my Congressperson cares about me, they certainly care for my taxes!
I get a letter about every two years telling me just what a fine job they are doing spending my money. So I just keep sending them to Washington along with my taxes so they can keep up the good work. I guess I could fire them if I wanted to but again I just don’t know.
Will I vote in the next election?
Of course I will. I will go to my polling place and let those little old women who seem to be at every volunteer event in the county, hand me my official vote ballot and I will stumble into the voting booth and cast my vote for whomever I think is best suited to spend my tax dollars. It will make me feel better for a brief period of time. That is until I can get home and find that not only did I vote for the wrong people, but that most of them didn’t even get elected.
Why did I vote for the wrong people?
Because, the ones who got elected really do a terrible job, and the ones who didn’t get elected must be worse at the job than the ones who did. So all in all, there must be no one who is qualified to perform those duties.
I really hate politics, yeah I know hate is a strong word. but what other word could describe the insanity of politics? I think the world would be better off without politics, and the politicians who seem to think they know better for all of us.
WAR.
It is a terrible thing, it takes away freedom, it instills fear, and it causes divisions in otherwise peaceful intentions.
War destroys nations and the citizens of those nations.
Why do we have War?
Someone threw a stone at someone else, Someone had an idea and then an argument ensued over the idea and everything got out of hand. But in the end we as civilized people have learned to trust our Governments and religious leaders to take care of us, therefore giving up the God given responsibilities to be caretakers of the world, by doing so we have trusted people to do our job. We are lazy and stupid. War is and will always be a failure of our elected leaders to diplomatically settle things without War.
Who’s fault is War?
It sets squarely in our own laps. There is no one to blame but us. We are after all people who live on this planet and we have to stop fighting over meaningless ideas.
But these are just my ideas, because they seem right to me. I am sure that somewhere someone is polishing a nice stone that will soon be tossed in my general direction.
