Lyrics / "CRUISING"

            ”CRUISING”

The music bounce’s around my car
Just like a ping pong ball
    As I eat a wendy’s burger alacarte
    My muscle tires start burning

On the dashboard of my red mustang
    Joey’s hands are jamming
While our girls sing,we hit the road with a bang
    To settle our heart’s yearning

    Chorus;

    CRUISING…..is our reality
Takes our minds where we want to be
    CRUISING…..is our only destiny
The highway sets our souls free

As the wind blows through our girls long hair
The sun shines down on us
With the top down,we see birds fly in the air
What a great Cape Cod summer day

You’d think we live with the president
    Of the United States
Our cell phones ring like we are a resident
As my wheels chew up the highway

    Chorus:

    Bridge;

    We’re the happiest quartet… alive
    And into the sunset…we’ll drive

    Chorus:

This was spirited…and it does bring a sense of light that i can recall. Perhaps here:  ”The music bounce’s around my car
Just like a ping pong ball”

You could use rattles, or pounds rather than bounce. The ping pong bit doesn’t seem as romantic as the rest of the lyrics, but that’s just my opinion.

This reminds me of years ago with my husband when we first met, cruising…what a great feeling it is!  Thanks for the fun jolt into the past :D

I do get a lot of imagery but i’m having trouble finding the rhythm. my favorite line has to be “As my wheels chew up the highway!” without the melody it’s hard to say and please forgive me this is my first review of a song…but it seems like a good “feel good” song.  definetly one to have the top down to. =)

Not sure about how the song is supposed to sound…what kind of beat?  other than that though, i love it.  i think it’s nice comic relief that you added in the specific name of the burger :)  hopefully that was the intended goal.  plus, you added two of my favorite things…music and cruisin :)  nice work.

I was going to say this was written for a young crowd, but looked to see how old the author was and decided it most be about memories.  I liked the idea of cruising with no place in particular to go.

I think that this song will truly be enjoyed by all. It feels like a happy uplifting song and I could almost hear the melody during the chorus and the second verse. Those are my favorite.  The only thing I didn’t like was the reference to the Wendy’s hamburger, (that may just be personal taste). Overall, I think this is a good song.

I think it’s a very sweet song, but then I don’t know what beat/music it goes with so I’m just using my imagination. But I feel where you’re coming from with the cruising. The only part I don’t understand is the “our cell phones ring like we are a resident.”

This is a great summer song….love the idea behind it,
‘CRUISING…..is our reality
Takes our minds where we want to be
    CRUISING…..is our only destiny
The highway sets our souls free’
Could use another stanza maybe..

Honest? OK, I don’t care for it. I understand that you are cruising but in the first stanza alone you have bouncing music, fast food and squealing tires. And it only gets busier from there.

As I recall cruising, it was loud music, rocking to the beat with the windows down (or convertible if you were one of the rich kids)and fast driving on the highway. Of course, there was the turns round the A&W drivein.

This whole thing needs to slow down and use fewer elements.

Sorry; of course, this is just my opinion. No doubt there will be an audience for this.

Personally, it didn’t do much for me.  You lost me at the “eating an wendy’s burger alacarte my muscle tires start burning”.  It seems a bit choppy and the phrases seem thrown together.  It’s a great start, just to me it could use some smoothing out.

I really could see this put to music because I think they are some fair lyrics. Not too pretentious, easy to understand and they have good rhythm. So keep up the good work
