A 767 WITH PASSENGERS IN HER
SLAMMED INTO SIDE OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER,
LIKE A SONIC BOOM
SET THE BUILDING A BLAZE,
PEOPLE TOOK TO THE STAIRS
FOR THEIR LIVES TO SAVE,
WATCH YOURSELF DOWN
SOME PEOPLE SHOUT OUT,
THE STAIRS COLAPSED
AND THE FLAMES SHOT OUT.

IN THE HEART OF THE CITY,
SOME PEOPLE WATCHED CLOSE
OH LORD IT’S A PITY,
A 2ND PLANE SWOOPED DOWN
WITH ALL OF ITS POWER,
AND SLAMMED INTO THE BELLY
OF THE OF THE 2ND TWIN TOWER,
DESK, CHAIRS, PEOPLE
BLOWN OUT TO THE GROUND,
THE CITY BUCKLED UP
AND THE BRIDGES SHUT DOWN,
BUILDINGS WERE EVACUATED
TUNNELS WERE CLOSED,
THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY
AIRPORTS WERE CLOSED,
FIREMEN HEADED UP
THE SMOKEY CRACKED STAIRS,
POLICE CARS RACED FROM
INTERNAL AFFAIRS.

9:40 A 3RD PLANE CRASHES INTO
THE PENTEGON BUILDING IN DC,
10 AM TWIN TOWER NUMBER 2
COLAPSED ON THE TV
FOR THE PEOPLE TO SEE,
10:29 WE HAD A RELAPSE
WE SAW THE NORTH TOWER
NUMBER ONE IT COLAPSED,
10:37 UNITED AIRLINES
CRASHED INTO THE FIELD
IN PENNSYLVANIA,
PEOPLE COME TOGETHER
THERE’S A NEW KIND OF WAR.,
A WAR AGAINST TERROR TERRORMANIA.

well, i fall some where between the other two folks. i agree that the words are quite emotionally powerful, but i also agree that i didn’t really feel the lyrical ring previously referred to either. but lyrics are, well, lyrics, and forever incomplete without the music intended to accompany them. i would be interested in actually hearing how you put it all together. often the music can either make, or break, a song.

The lyrics are good, though they don’t really ring as lyrics, but more as a poem. The facts are present, but said many times before. I suggest finding words that add color or substance to strengthen the message. I’m picturing these lyrics as a rap song of some sort. Maybe I am wrong..

This was difficult for me to read. I lost loved ones that day, which makes these lyrics especially emotional for me. I do like the lines “pull yourself together, life goes on.” That is the harsh reality of what happened that day. I do think I would have a better ability to judge this if I heard it as spoken word or performed as a song, but, as it is, I like it. I do think you could choose some more powerful words since the events and impact of that day was so great.
Well written as a chronological summary of what went on that day, but unfortunately because of the structure and the length; I don’t think it could ever be recorded as a song.

i like your lyric and of course it’s a very emotional one we all can relate to.i like the way throughout the lyric you set that timetable and stating how the events happen when they happened. my only problem is that cause it was so recent that most people already know all that..(like it was a news reel than a song) though the dedication was a nice thought.i think songs of events that have been done work better as time goes on, shipping tragedies in our history for ex.that facts maybe new to people..but a great crafted lyric..better go..to many credits srry
