Poetry / Ashes Drift
I see the pale moonlight,
It reminded me of a time you were there.
A time in which you still cared.
And now you’ve gone and left us to rot inside my mind.
Now I can say, I want you more than I want to.
Come sit by me and we’ll pour salt on our wounds.
Show me where it hurts and I’ll show you where my demons reside.
I never meant to push away what you were inside,
I see the child trying to hide.
It chains me from what you are.
Now I am forced to suffer my love for you.
How did it happen, when my heart turned to stone.
How did my pain swallow my soul.
When did I feel enough was enough.
Slowy turn my blood cold.
I feel there’s nothing left in me known as life.
My mind decay’s as the ashes drift away.
