Poetry / Silence
Silence
It sometimes hurts
And sometimes heals
It’s ever present
And always gone
It’s awkward
And wonderful
It exists
And it doesn’t
It results from love
And comes from hate
It happens in punishment
And during the crime
It’s in concentration
And apart of a daydream
I long for it
And I hate it
I need it when it’s gone

I loved this one. I love poetry that makes me feel what the writer feels. This is a poem most people can probably relate to and understand. It flows and rolls beautifully.
I got hung up on the word “happens” in L1 of S6. Personally, I feel like you need a different word there.
My favorite parts:
“It results from love
And comes from hate”
“I long for it
And I hate it
I need it when it’s gone”

Interesting and creative way to name the many facets of silence.
This is really good. It spoke to me. Silence is a huge part of my life and there are times when I feel almost everything you have said here. Thanks for sharing.
hmm. pretty good. its interesting, simple yet deep. its an accurate depiction of all that is silence.
I’m confused by the lines:
It’s in concentration
And apart of a daydream
Overall, can remove most ‘it’s and still keep the image and the strength. Great observations especially punishment/crime.
And I definitely relate to this one. Last line is my favorite.
