Stage Play / the dreaded revolt of thing one and thing two

Setting: a living room. There is a big red box on the ground in the middle of the room.
At rise: The Cat in the Hat lifts the hook of the box.

CAT IN THE HAT
…And I call them Thing One and Thing Two!

(Thing One and Thing Two step out of the box. Thing One has his arms crossed. Thing Two has his hands on his hips.)

THING ONE
My friend, we have done you a mountain of good.
THING TWO
We’ve picked up your laundry and kissed where you’ve stood.
THING ONE
There are limits to what we will do in your service.
THING TWO
We’ll no longer remain, doing what makes us nervous.
CAT IN THE HAT
But wait! You’ve forgotten our Truffula Pact! The Thing Resolution! The Loyalty Act!

(Thing One and Thing Two have moved to the other side of the Cat and they are slowly advancing toward him, making him back toward the big red box.)

THING ONE
You’ve exploited our labor to do what you fancy.  It’s got to be stopped.  Your best servants are antsy.
THING TWO
Goodbye, horrid despot.  We won’t miss your rule.
CAT IN THE HAT
(Shoved up against the box)  Come back!  I will let you go back to Thing School!  You’ll have flexible hours—I won’t be so stern—Oh please, we have all got so much left to learn!

(The Things shove him into the box and latch it shut.)

I was never a Cat in the Hat fan/reader, so I’m not sure what these characters represent. Something in your notes to reviewer might help those of us who are not in the know.

That said, this is very catchy. Too short though to be a stage play. A one-act play should be about 10 minutes at least. Any thought about how you could expand this?
