Yeah…I actually wrote this a year ago, and it’s only gotten more true.

So here I am, sitting in the middle of Redneck, USA, wondering who the hell put me here and whether I can sue them.
But then I remember my mother put me here, and I would probably lose my allowance if I sued her.
So everyday I am put up to the excruciating pain of seeing shirts that proclaim, “Cowboy butts drive me nuts” or “Southern by the grace of god” or, my personal favorite, “Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve”.
I have finally learned to keep my mouth shut, however. I will not make some sarcastic remark to the people who don’t understand it. (But that just makes all that more amusing).
The thing is, I am outnumbered. There is one of me and five thousand of them. Not a fair fight by far.
So I know when I am defeated, and I will give up before I am forced into submission.
I’ll sit in my corner, wave my white flag, and pray to God that they don’t remember I believe in evolution.

Okay… So i had written this review once already and accidentally backed up. To sum up what I had said, I understand where you are coming from. Its a 1 to 400,000 battle here, and I have damn near given up. However they made me so mad I just started fighting back harder. Anyways… I shall be reading your stuff more often, and we should talk, I can completely understand how you must feel.

Very good writing, you really made me smile. I have been all over the USA and I have stopped by many redneck towns, to make it worse truck stops in those redneck towns. My advice is hold out, hold your head high, get good grades, and apply to an out of state collage. Good Luck.

This is a fantastic piece to come out of someone so young. Though I would love a cowboy butts drive me nuts shirt just because of the humor involved in me personally wearing it. Regardless you have a talent and a huge voice behind your writing. Keep up the good work…

Good piece. Hey, I can empathize with you, but at least you’re not one of them. And on the flip side, they might label you as one of those loser “emo” kids who needs to quit crying. Moral of the story=everyone has a right to live the way they see fit and believe what they want in America.

You begin this amazingly, and it is very obvious to me that you are a very gifted individual. As I am from a similar town, I know exactly where you are coming from. I loved the T-shirt examples… and you are only 13. It took me many more years to feel this way than it did you. Kudos!!

Very good. I sense a certain frustration about being where you are. It is expressed very eloquently in your writing. I guess we are all outnumbered in some way, no matter what our beliefs. Don’t ever be forced into submission. I enjoyed reading this.
