okay okay. Let us clarify this mess.

I know, there is too much ambiguity here.

See, all I am trying to state is the fact that the great masters of art, (AND YES THEY ARE FROM THE ARTS) most of them, were individuals whose rules were new. So new that it could be say that they have never followed any other rule but themselves, their own ways of what art really represents in their mind. For instance: Da Vinci.

So when I mean followers, I mean the best masters in art. And when I mean the did never follow, I only mean the did never follow the basics, rather they did come up with new inventions to create new ways to see art itself.

Not necessarily should be call a phylosophy, that is true. Nevertheless, in a way, there are certain individuals whose base their lifestyle in aheithetic ways. Which I find it as a phylosophy then, because is a way to live, to think about your world. So you can say you follow it. We artist follow our own ways, then our own way to live as well, and expresss it, project it as well.

By best followers I only mean “Master” such Da Vinci. Here is a clear example of someone who did not follow rules that ancient masters did, yet he made his own but at the same time he was closer in the arts than any other at the time. And even today I doubt someone can.

OK in that case i’d replace ‘art’ with ‘creativity’. we follow our creativity, yes, but i’m just not so sure we follow something so concrete. nice point though.

I am pretty sure you may be right, Protagoras. Yet , as you can see, I like to play with meanings and words. Is this mainly the reason why I used followers rather than any other word and also it maybe creativity but still to make my point clear I refer to the arts. Of course I could be more precise. how is art a philosophy and how do the best not follow?

Well, that is now a good questions.
Since phylosophies can be considered as a way of life, among others, so does art and their respective artists. Now, if you think about artists, most of the times truly masters are those who dared to never follow “directions”. Instead they created their own, for instance, Da Vinci introduced us new ways to learn art itself. Thus when I think of followers I think of loyal followers who strictly follow an ideal. It is in art where I find myself thinking that the less you follow the best follow you become since Art rarely has anything to do with following things or not yet it is something meant to be followed- Do you see my point now?
