Poetry / Permission to love
“Permission to love.”
Can
I
Love
You!
If your not too busy with the rest of the world
I’d like to share a few ideas.
Cook you my favorite foods, watch my favorite shows
tell you one secret, one confession, one fear.
I can listen between the lies,
I mean read between the lines,
You haven’t loved anyone this way
in a long long time.
Feels like your first kiss
better yet the first you were touched softly
behind the school at the tree everyone thought, sombody was buried inside.
I won’t allow your excuses,
nothing deserves, neglect or abuse.
Not you silly, I know, calm down
I’m speaking of what your heart tells you.
That everyone is a lie,
everyday is a set up,
conspiracies and all the blame
whispers when you walk by.
The pressure of assurance, and guarantee, must be a thrill
Walking through this with you
is like dancing upside down in 22inch heels.
