Criticism / The New Migration

Decades ago my ancestor decided that the South was no longer a place to get ahead in as long as the white man stand in their way. With what little they had they headed up North to Chicago, Cleveland, Detriot, New York City, and any other big cities that could take them in. This event was called The Great Migration.

Now,we face a problem that not only Black people face, but everyone in the United States. It becomes so bad that even moving up North won’t do anymore, but I have a suggestion. Now called me crazy, but since half of what America owns is made in the Asia countries, than instead of them sending their stuff here, why don’t we just go over there.

Before you called me unamerican, just think about it; look at everything in your house. Look at your tv, your video games, computers, your appliances, and even the clothe your wearing. Now, tell me watch of those items is American made? Barly anything hah?

As you can see, America is having problem getting itself, but the other countries aren’t, and for us, that not good. I suggest that will ship or fly ourselves to Japan, Korea, China, and Hong Kong and live with them for a while. I mean, yeah they have strict laws, but think about what you would get: technology that not two years behind, jobs that pay up to $700.00 an hour, schools that actually teach children, and being able to own a home…and keep it.

Sure their goverenment is tightly controling, you can have only one child per household, and they’re very obseese about social conduct, but it worth all the other benefits. And when they get sick of us, they’ll send us back to the United States, and by then, America got it shit together.

First of all, you have entirely too many goals with this piece. You should narrow this down to only a few of these goals, as many of them are only slight variations on each other. You also have a few spelling problems that need to be addressed before agents or publishers will look at your piece.

Second, I am not sure that this is a true “criticism” piece as it lacks any information that you have cited to back it up. We have “the great migration”, and city names like Detroit and Chicago, but you don’t mention any historical data or sources to reinforce your argument. I realize that “the great migration” is common knowledge and all… but still.

Finally, let’s say we all move to Asia, the place where we get all of our electronics, toys, and products from. First of all, they have major overpopulation and pollution problems, not to mention terrible living conditions and arguable slave wages compared to the states. Let’s also consider what will happen when the asian countries want to become primarily a service provider instead of a goods provider. Where will we move to next? Will America have it’s shit together by then and/or will Asia’s shit hit the fan?

First, ease up on the goals. You have too many, and most of them are redundant and repetitious.

As a Criticism, it’s not bad. You’re leaning towards Satire, but I don’t know if that was intentional. If so, punch it up a lot more, so we can be sure. If not, you may want to flesh the piece out a little bit to make that clear.

If you want this to be published, you really need to make friends with spell-check.

I am from Australia and I can certainly relate to this. Everything here is made from China and it has always irritated me. Though I won’t really like to live anywhere where you could have only one child, I find that disgraceful. I suppose their are advantages and disadvantages to anywhere you live.

I agree its the same here in England. Actually a lot of the people in Asia live in poverty and work very hard for poor wages. Ok the developers may earn a lot of money but the average worker is on a pittance, Why do you think America and britain purchase from these countries instead of making their own, Well because the rich business men can get a larger slice of the pie, instead of paying minimum wages to workers.
