I wrote a lot in college, took twenty years off to have a career in technology, get married, raise a family, etc. Then I came back to writing, and published my first book (Dusk Before the Dawn) in April 2006. I like to write both serious fiction, and what I hope will be comedic fiction (because what is funny to the writer often isn’t funny to the reader). I read almost all kinds of fiction and non-fiction.

Seven words submitted on a scale of six words = over-achiever = trying to hard. I get it, it is clever. Will the Smith mag folks let it through their six word filter? Dunno.

Good visuals: 1) the size of the wolves compared to the mounts; 2) the description of the Air Elemental (reminded me of Final Fantasy which I've watched my son play). Unsure: 1)the banter between Nathin and the fairy...they seemed more familiar and playful that I would have assumed this early in a story, but I have not seen Chapter 1.
