very entertaining...the churning and burning, I take as your inspiration and words not yet written, tossing and turning, unable to sleep until the art is free...but like 99% of the writers and painters, as beautiful a masterpiece as it may be, it will not earn you your fortune...but I'm sure you're a richer person having done it. Nice.
wow. this tells a really great and really sad story...your descriptions of the events were beautiful...does it have a deeper meaning than the surface story?

This had a nice flow to it, a real smooth read. I really enjoyed the details of the home, the toys and underwear, it feels like any and every american home. you were able to turn a seemingly uneventful happening into a poignant statement that somehow echoes our society as a whole. Maybe I'm stretching, or reading too much into this, (the discussion of replacing our american icons has been on the forefront of my mind lately, with the InBev buy out of Budweiser but the subtle way you point out ...
too right. Whether we'd like to admit it or not, most artists have some sort of ego...usually fragile...it's a pride in the work and the responsibility to create, I think...
I like this song, I'm a sucker for christmas, and it would seem folks don't write about the holiday the way we used to. That being said, I did struggle with the meter and rhyme a bit, I really think I need to hear it with music to grasp the truest essence of the song. these lines: When every receiver is a true believer. And we all know what they believe. That all who are giving are all really getting. More than they could ever receive. ...Are close to perfect and capture the essence of holida...
I really like the flow of this. I have a feeling I'm misinterpreting the lyrics, though. Of course, that's the beauty of music and a song, like a painting, we all fins our own personal message. Though I'd like to know what the true point was... it seemed to me it was a song about a woman who yearned for freedom and a different life, but stuffed those feelings down deep inside her once she had children, putting them at the center of her universe, while quietly yearning for a different life. Am...
This is a tight song. I don't know how it fits musically or what genre this song fits, but from a lyrical standpoint, it brings to mind the gothic-americana sound, conjuring those rustic hellfire images I love so much. (I'm in a goth-am band called Strawfoot) Has this been set to music? Is it available to listen to? nicely done.
this is good...poignant...true... Is it a poem, or a song? Every time I read lyrics I try to imagine the music... I imagine this one to be a lilting, ethereal ballad.
I really like this one. It has a positive undertone to it, but still keeps an honest and realistic level of life's burdens in it. It doesn't come across as a sappy life-affirming disney song. I'd love to hear what it sounds like with music.
Has this been set to music? I really like it. It has some really smart lyrics. It feels like something Shannon Hoon or Ani Difranco might write. I'm not sure about the meaning of the song, is it about playing to a hostile audience? I sepecially love this verse pattern: We’re all seeking to be different, High-achieving and so unique. Crave to open a new life of possibilities And when we’re upset by the changes… Start longing for the antique. I'd really like to hear the music.
