Overall, the story was engaging, thoughtful and probably appealing to any working class cat who has either been "laid off" or who lives in fear of it. It is a timely piece. The characters are very likeable, and I think that is a big factor in why the story works. It made me wonder what happens to them in the wake of the layoffs.
