I know how painful it is to have a parent who...is too occupied by their own pain to actually be a parent. Whether it is alcoholism, depression, suicide, many people have faced this. While a story may be sad it can help others who have experienced the same thing. Talking about painful subjects helps so much both for those talking and those listening.

I've never been able to translate love into any prose or poetry. It's beyond my reach. Your letter is very beautiful...thank god I don't have to read another vampire lust/love story.

I don't know who you are trying to establish pity for, but the only people I can hate are the cheaters. I really, at this point, can't blame Marissa for her rage. If that is intended, then that is fine, if not...well...I don't know .

One of the best short stories I have read in a very long time. I really don't have much along the lines of critique, other than bravo.

I feel that there should be a balance between a healthy expression of sexuality, and being downright shameful. Mainstream media has really messed up people's perception of sex. It really has.

But what of those who don't believe in God? In all honesty that is just buying into an external source. To find beauty in yourself it has to come from inside you, but that's just my opinion. I think it's good motivation for those who are religious, but most teenage girls aren't religious (even if they go to church they don't live by the word.)
